4th annual downtown Sidewalk Sale scheduled

The merchants of downtown Homewood will line the sidewalks in front of their shops with merchandise discounted up to 75 percent at their 2016 Sidewalk Sale on July 30.

The fourth annual sale, which offers shoppers a chance to buy local, will begin at 9 a.m. and continue for most of the day, according to the Homewood Chamber of Commerce website.

Nearly 40 merchants will take part, said Meredith Drennen, the chamber’s executive director.

The Sidewalk Sale has been successful because “it enables shoppers to get great discounts and stores to clear out summer inventory before back-to-school shopping commences,” Drennan said.
