Samford's hard-hitting Heath Quinn will lead the Bulldogs against Alabama.
The Samford baseball team will play host to the Alabama Crimson Tide Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. at Joe Lee Griffin Field.
At the conclusion of Tuesday night's contest, Samford will hold its annual Money Drop, sponsored by CraneWorks and the law firm of Friedman, Dazzio, Zulanas and Bowling. Money will be dropped on the field from a helicopter and all Samford students will be allowed to run onto the field and grab as much cash as they can.
The Bulldogs enter the week with a record of 14-16 overall and 6-3 in Southern Conference play. Samford won two-of-three games from UNCG in a SoCon series over the weekend.
On the mound for Samford, left-handed pitcher Eric Wright will get the starting nod Tuesday evening. Wright enters the game with a record of 2-2 and an ERA of 5.68.
The Crimson Tide is currently 15-15 overall and 4-8 in Southeastern Conference games. Alabama was swept in a three-game SEC series by LSU over the weekend.
Alabama has listed right-handed pitcher Jake Walters as its starter for Tuesday night's contest. Walters is currently 2-1 this season with a 2.41 ERA.
Samford and Alabama have met once earlier this season. The teams squared off at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium on March 17, with Alabama coming away with an 8-6 victory.
