0513 HHS Baseball Playoffs
The Patriot Baseball team is advancing in the state playoffs.
Last weekend Homewood High School Varsity Baseball Team defeated Briarwood to advance to the third round of the state playoffs. All three games in the series were decided by one run. Homewood won the three game series 2-1.
"It was a great playoff series and atmosphere. Our guys never quit," said Head Coach Doug Gann after the win.
Eight teams remain in the State 5A Playoffs. Next up the Patriots will play Hartselle in a doubleheader Friday, May 3 at Hartselle High School. The winner of the best of three series will advance to the semi-finals.
Editor's Note: On Friday, May 3, Homewood split two games with Hartselle. The final game is scheduled for 5 p.m. Monday, May 6.
