Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church parishioner Don Fleming relaxes as he donates blood during the Knights of Columbus Council 4304-American Red Cross blood drive Sept. 18 at the Homewood church.
By the time the fourth Mass of the day was being celebrated on September 18, nearly 50 people had become blood donors, including members of the community at large.
The Knights of Columbus not only organized the eight-hour blood drive, but they also cooked a hot breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage and more for donors and their families.
