Five Homewood High School seniors have been named National Merit Semifinalists: Josh Gardner, Sarah Grace McDuff, Roman Paoletti, Adam Pratt and David Selden. Miller Williams and Yevgeni Gavrikov were named National Merit Commended Students.
Officials of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the 59th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. These seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 8,000 National Merit Scholarships worth about $35 million that will be offered next spring.
Commended Students also demonstrated exceptional performance on the qualifying test used for program entry but will not continue in the competition.
