Magic City Sweet Ice Exterior
Magic City Sweet Ice is opening across from Patriot Park in West Homewood.
West Homewood will host its very own Night Out on Saturday, June 18. Beginning at 6 p.m., attendees can expect everything from music to craft beers and food trucks to video games at an assortment of participating locations.
One of the event’s organizers, Andy Conaway, said he and Homewood neighbor Jim Johnson came up with the idea in a brainstorming session. Conaway said they decided to incorporate something in the neighborhood that they would typically leave Homewood to find: food trucks, live music and craft beer.
“We worked with neighboring businesses to see what we could come up with,” said Conaway, “and it all just came together. People have been very supportive from all over Homewood. We're really excited to see this be a successful and a monthly night out.”
Conaway said food trucks, including Off the Hook and Johnny’s BBQ, would be in attendance, spread out from Magic City Sweet Ice to Seeds Coffee. The West Homewood Lions Club will also be grilling out on the corner lot of Patriot Park by Oak Grove Road and Oxmoor Road.
The night’s lineup is as follows.
Food trucks:
- Johnny's BBQ
- Off the Hook
- West Homewood Lions Club
