The 2019 Red Shoe Run looked a little different this year compared to years past. For the first time ever, the event was held in March and featured a rock n' roll theme.
A huge crowd showed up at the Ronald McDonald House for the race's downtown debut on March 16. Before the race began, there was music and photo ops with Ronald McDonald.
Mayor Randall Woodfin gave a short speech before counting down both the 5K and 1-mile fun run.
Snacks and drinks were placed out for runners to enjoy afterwards. The route took them throughout downtown.
