The 7th Annual Spring Scramble 5K will be held on Saturday, May 18 in downtown Homewood.
The 5K is the UAB Pediatric Residency Program’s annual community outreach to raise awareness about childhood obesity, promote healthy lifestyle choices for children and adults in Alabama, and to help support the Children’s Center for Weight Management at Children’s of Alabama with the proceeds from the event.
“Through our fundraising efforts, we hope to provide equipment and educational materials for children participating in the Children’s Center for Weight Management,” said Dr. Adam Johnson, a UAB pediatric resident at Children’s of Alabama and one of the event organizers.
Registration for the race is available online until May 17 at 8 p.m. at springscramble.org, or the registration form is able to be downloaded and completed before 7:50 a.m. on race day, May 18. The registration form can be submitted at the start of the race at The Trak Shak (2839 18th St. S., Homewood) or at packet pick-up.
