Trash and Treasure Team Preparation
The Trash and Treasure team prepares for the rummage sale held as a part of Independence Day Festival at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Homewood.
Preparations for Our Lady of Sorrows’ annual Independence Day Festival are underway.
The festival’s Trash ‘N’ Treasures rummage sale is now seeking donations. All donations are tax-deductible.
Sale chairman Melanie Falconer said all donated electronics and small appliances should be in working order and clothing should be clean, on hangers if possible and can be gently worn but not stained. She also said they cannot take car seats and cribs that are old and without expiration dates or are past their attached expiration dates.
Falconer said that soon red and white yard signs will begin popping up advertising the festival. She also encouraged volunteers and bargain hunters to keep an eye on the Trash ‘n’ Treasure Facebook page for updates and photos of interesting items.
The 66th Annual Our Lady of Sorrows Church Independence Day Festival will be held on July 4 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on the church grounds. The festival, coordinated by Knights of Columbus #4304, will feature barbecue, a raffle, games for all ages and the rummage sale.
