Homewood police seized more than four pounds of cocaine following a traffic stop Friday.
A Homewood police officer stopped a vehicle for traffic offenses Friday around 10:25 a.m., according to police. The driver was identified as Rafael Hill.
Police found Hill had an outstanding felony warrant with Jefferson County. Officers called for a K-9 unit, and the K-9 alerted on the vehicle, indicating the presence of drug paraphernalia.
Hill was arrested and his vehicle was towed. Narcotics detectives later obtained a search warrant for the vehicle. Upon execution of the search warrant, plastic bags containing 4.07 pounds of powder which tested positive for cocaine were found, according to police. A semi-automatic handgun was also found.
Police report the street value of the cocaine is over $110,765.
