Homewood Police Department
This city-owned building at 1833 29th Ave. S. in Homewood, Alabama, formerly was home for the Homewood Police Department before the department moved to West Valley Avenue in 2020.
The Homewood City Council on Monday is scheduled to talk about the status of the former Homewood police headquarters at 1833 29th Ave. S.
The Police Department moved out of the building six years ago to a new spot on West Valley Avenue. A proposal to sell the building so a developer could put a steakhouse and park there was met with opposition last year and withdrawn.
The agenda for Monday’s 5 p.m. council work session includes discussion between the council and mayor about the status of the property and its potential future use.
The council’s agendas for Monday also include discussion and potential action on limits for locations of electric vehicle charging stations, a new official definition for minor vehicle repairs for zoning purposes, and a license approval process for food stores that want to sell beverage consumable hemp products.
