Dr. Chappell's Award
Dr. Patrick Chappell receives the CLAS Leadership Award for his commitment and support for Homewood City Schools.
Dr. Patrick Chappell recently received the CLAS Leadership Award for his dedication to education.
Dr. Chappell, the director of instructional support for Homewood City Schools, has worked as a teacher and administrator in Homewood for 21 years. He has served as past-president of Alabama ASCD (Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development) and works closely with the Homewood Schools Foundation. Chappell is also a frequent volunteer on doctoral committees at Samford University and teaches as an adjunct in Samford's secondary 5th year program.
This award is presented annually to a CLAS member who has exhibited leadership in his or her affiliate, school system, the education community and the state level. Award nominations are made by each of the eleven CLAS affiliates and judging is conducted by members of the CLAS Awards Committee. The winner and other nominees are recognized and presented with a plaque during the CLAS Annual Convention and the winner receives $1,000.
