City closings and service changes for New Year’s holiday

Here is how the New Year’s holiday will affect city buildings and services in Homewood:

  • Homewood Public Library will be closed on New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31) and New Year’s Day (Jan. 1).
  • Public works will be closed on New Year’s Day (Jan. 1). Garbage and trash pick-up that is regularly on a Friday will be picked up Thursday, Dec. 31. Garbage and trash that is regularly picked up on Thursday was picked up on Wednesday, Dec. 30.
  • The Homewood Community Center, Lee Center and Homewood Senior Center will be closed New Years Day (Dec. 31).
  • City hall and city departments will not operate on New Year’s Day.
