Q: What is the vision of your practice?
A: At Shades Creek Dental, we believe in setting the standard in patient centered care by creating a welcoming, judgment-free experience that utilizes the latest technology to educate you in a comfortable, relaxing environment. Our vision is to provide a better, different experience in comprehensive dental care.
Q: You chose to open your office in Homewood, Alabama. What about this area did you find appealing?
A: My wife and I had eight great years in Birmingham before moving away for a few years. In that time we had a daughter and wanted to raise her in a tight-knit, family-friendly community, and there is no better place for that than Homewood. I always imagined myself working and serving those who I am lucky enough to call friends and neighbors.
Q: What services does your practice provide?
A: We’re a comprehensive dental practice, in that we provide a wide variety of services from routine cleanings all the way to full cosmetic makeovers. We find all aspects of dentistry fascinating and are constantly training and using the latest techniques and technology to help provide the highest quality of service to our patients.

Q: One of the things that has been very important to your practice is providing a calming, patient-oriented environment for your patients. How have you accomplished that?
A: Every element of Shades Creek Dental was designed with the patients’ comfort in mind. From the custom artwork from Homewood’s own Ashley McCullers, to the TVs mounted overhead for your viewing pleasure, we designed the office to not only be the most advanced in the area, but also the most relaxing. We even have electric drills that are much quieter than traditional air driven ones.
Q: Your practice uses the best in technology in order to give patients a better experience in your office. Tell me a little about the tools that you use and how they benefit your patients.
A: In today’s modern dental office, oral health concerns can be caught earlier and treated faster than ever before. Patients benefit from faster, more predictable treatment, while we benefit by providing more effective treatment with less complications.
At Shades Creek Dental, we have made a significant investment in technology to help better treat and communicate with our patients. We utilize digital X-rays that require significantly less radiation, intra-oral cameras to take selfies of your teeth and have laughing gas plumbed into every room. I think our most popular piece of technology is our same-day crown machine.
Q: I have heard about same-day crowns. How does it work?
A: At Shades Creek Dental, we’ve eliminate those messy, gag-inducing conventional impressions by utilizing 3-D scanning technology instead. This technology speeds up the turnaround times for lab procedures and communicate with our in-office milling unit to make same-day crowns. Our milling units take the digital impressions and designs that we create to grind or mill precise restorations quickly. Because it’s all done in the office, we’re able to place restorations in a single visit, resulting in less visits to the office. We promise to continue to give our patients the best treatment available with the most up-to-date technology.
