Whenever Misty Joseph of ARC Realty thinks of the work that she does, she remembers a well known quote: “Home is where the heart is.”
As a Realtor, it’s her job to help her clients find the place that makes them feel comfortable, secure and surrounded by love and family.
That’s a big responsibility — one that shouldn’t be trusted to just anybody. There are three things that families should look for in a Realtor to entrust this task with.
The first is the ability to listen. Misty says that she listens not just to her client’s home wishlist, but to understand the elements of a house that will make it a home for their family.
“[For some], home is that feeling when you land at the airport after a business trip or put your key in the door after a vacation,” Misty said. “It’s that feeling at movie night on the sofa or pancakes around the kitchen island on Saturday morning. It can even be the first wink from a flower in the garden on an early spring morning,” she said.
“Finding your new or second home should be an enjoyable experience, so I listen before we start looking. I listen to learn who you are and what will make a house a home for you.”
The second aspect families should look for is familiarity with the area.
“When you’re looking for a house, condo or loft, most people think of bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, architectural details and landscape,” Misty said, “but there is more that will be part of your home.”
The location is a big part of deciding whether or not a house is right for you. Misty thinks of the way a family can function in a neighborhood. Does the area have parks? Is it close to the type of entertainment you enjoy? Is it a community that provides for those with an active lifestyle?
“Neighborhoods in the Birmingham area abound with options, and because I am from Birmingham and have family roots in the real estate industry, I can promise to find the best options for you.”
Last but not least, an agent’s experience and marketing skills are important for both buying and selling a home.
“Knowing you and your home is part of the selling process, too,” she said. “Putting your house on the market is not just a listing. You deserve the best marketing to yield the best market price.
“Assessing your home, staging it and addressing any potential issues before they become problems are part of my process. And because I work with buyers and sellers, I have unparalleled leads,” Misty said.
With years of experience as a Realtor, Misty Joseph has helped many families buy or sell their home with compassion, integrity and a wealth of knowledge.
As one client put it: “Misty is assertive, not aggressive. She thinks outside the box so that everyone involved — buyer and seller — win. She communicates quickly, regardless if the news is positive or negative. Misty will always be our Realtor. She’s magic.”
