The F.I.L.E.S. Arts Project 12th Annual Dance & Music Workshop/Showcase

The FREE Professional Dance & Music Workshop, taking place from Monday, June 9, 2025 to Friday, June 13, 2025, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Dance Workshop will be held at the Alabama School of Fine Arts (ASFA) offering classes in Modern, Ballet, Jazz, Improvisation, and Hip Hop. The Dance Workshop will be led by renowned Teaching Artists Kat Files, Rivkins Christopher, Eryn Cade and Alisa Gregory. The Dance Workshop caters to participants across different age groups, including Level I (Ages 6-9), Level II (Ages 10-13), and Level III (Ages 14 & up).

The Music Workshop location will be announced on the TFAP website soon. Music participants will engage in exciting and challenging classes including instrument-specific masterclasses, ensemble rehearsals, music theory, improvisation, and private lessons to improve their overall musicianship. The Music Workshop will be led by nationally and internationally recognized Teaching Artists Dr. Royce Files, Dwight Houston, Christopher Stewart, and Aundrenee' Jemison. The Music Workshop is geared towards Middle School and High School students with a woodwind and brass instrument focus.

The Business of Being an Artist Seminar will be led by Christian Files, while the Healthy Artist Seminar will be led by Dr. Faith Caldwell.

The Workshop will culminate in an invigorating Showcase the final day, Friday, June 13, 2025 at 5pm held at the Dorothy Jemison Day Theater located within the Alabama School of Fine Arts.

Although the workshop itself is free of charge, a $30 non-refundable registration fee is mandatory at the time of registration. Attendees are required to bring a brown-bag lunch and wear appropriate attire, including all-black dance/exercise clothing and footwear such as ballet shoes, jazz shoes, sneakers, or foot thongs. Previous attendees of The F.I.L.E.S. Arts Project Workshops are encouraged to wear their tank/t-shirts.
