Matt Roth, John Parker Wilson and Adam Baxter are owners of the Birmingham area franchise for Walkon's Sports Bistreaux.
WalkOn’s Sports Bistreaux plans to open its fourth Birmingham area location in Homewood.
Franchise owners John Parker Wilson, Adam Baxter and Matt Roth chose to put the new location at the former Rodney Scott’s BBQ spot at 2701 18th St. S.
The partners already operate Walkon’s Sports Bistreaux locations in Hoover at Stadium Trace Village and Tattersall Park and on Main Street in Trussville.
No opening date has been shared yet.
Wilson, a Hoover High graduate, spent three years as the starting quarterback for the Alabama Crimson Tide and four seasons in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars. He then spent five years as the color commentator for the Crimson Tide Sports Network before giving up that role to Tyler Watts in 2023.
Baxter has called the Birmingham area home since 2003 and currently resides in Homewood. He is a vice president at Stream Capital Partners and owner of Lucky Dog Mobile Grooming and Spartan Fence Co.
Roth, who operates the Walkon’s locations, has called the Birmingham area home for eight years, the past five in Hoover.
