Urban Cookhouse will undergo renovations over the next week.
Urban Cookhouse is temporarily closings its Homewood location for a few renovations.
The restaurant, located at 2846 18th Street South, closed starting Jan. 15 and will be closed for seven to 10 days. Renovations include updates to the kitchen and dining area.
Owner Andrea Snyder said the renovations were due to help expand the kitchen and prep areas for the growing business.
"I think everyone knows our space is pretty small," Snyder said.
While many changes will be made to the kitchen and basement areas, customers will also see changes to the dining area. Snyder said there will be updated finishes and tiling to the restaurant in addition to updates to the front of the building.
The Homewood location was the first of five, soon to be seven, locations. Snyder said when they first opened, they tried to be cost-efficient. With more locations opening, Snyder said it was time to give the original store updated elements seen at some of the newer restaurants.
"Just basically giving it a face-lift, which it needed," Snyder said.
Snyder said they expect the store to reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 26.
