The Liz Lane Gallery on 29th Avenue South is celebrating its second anniversary.
On March 28, Liz Lane Gallery, 1923 29th Ave. S., will host a live art event to celebrate its second year in business.
The event will start at 5:30 p.m. and will offer attendees a unique sensory experience, with gallery artists Liz Lane, Lorrie Lane, Kellie Newsome and Anne Corhern creating original pieces of art while local musicians improvise, allowing the artists to feed off of each other’s creative flow.
Each piece created will also be available for purchase during the event, along with other small works.
“Art is a conversation, whether it’s between an artist and their medium or piece of work and the viewer or through some other means. We’re going to be opening the conversation to our fellow musicians and are really excited to show people how the different arts inform and interact with one another. It’s going to be an engaging experience for everyone,” gallery owner Liz Lane said.
The artists will work in 60-minute blocks with the musicians playing in 30-minute shifts, allowing the artists to engage with different styles of music. Guests will be able to enjoy the live performances while taking in the gallery’s collection of works, all of which will be available for purchase.
Entrance to the event is free and wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served.
