The Exceptional Foundation vs. The Homewood Police Department
The Homewood Police Department put their skills to the test in a basketball game against The Exceptional Foundation's traveling basketball team on Tuesday.
“The officers lost, but by losing they actually won,” said Homewood City Schools Superintendent Bill Cleveland, who officiated the game and noted several Homewood graduates were on the court. “It was a fantastic time. Our officers reminded me of our teachers; they know them, they care for them and they love being around them.”
The officers wore T-shirts in support of Beards for Bucks, a fundraiser the police department is participating in to benefit The Exceptional Foundation and Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Participating officers are growing out their beards through the end of the month as well as donating $35.
The final score was 41-34 with The Exceptional Foundation in the lead.
