Members of the Birmingham Historical Society are working on a book about Shades Creek, and they want Homewood residents to help.
Marjorie Whites, Julius Linn Jr. and Birgit Kibelka from the historical society are hosting a presentation on Shades Creek at the Feb. 11 Friends of Shades Creek meeting. They will discuss their plan for the book, titled “A New Look at an Old Creek,” and Friends president Michelle Blackwood said they hope community members will attend to share their stories.
“We just want to try to help them out and get them as much information about Shades Creek as we can,” Blackwood said.
Community members will be able to provide information and suggestions about Shades Creek and the book, and Blackwood said people can also bring copies of photos they want to share.
The meeting is open to everyone and will take place from 7-8:30 p.m. in room 101 of the Homewood Public Library. Refreshments will be available before the meeting.
“The more, the better is the way we feel about these meetings,” Blackwood said.
