In the spirit of St. Valentine, Homewood can show a little love during the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama’s Coffee to End Hunger event.
During the one-day hunger awareness event hosted by O’Henry’s Coffees, a portion of all sales on Thursday, Feb. 13 will benefit the non-profit’s hunger programs.
The organization's programs include Weekender’s Back Pack Program, sending children home with food over the weekend; Produce in Pantries, providing fresh produce to those needing healthy food access; Mobile Pantry, serving those living in underserved rural areas; and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Pantry, a hospital based pantry providing low-income families with shelf-stable goods and baby supplies.
Organized by the food bank’s junior board, this event is intended to garner awareness of the hunger issues that plague more than a half-million individuals in the 12 counties served by the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama.
Patrons can grab a cup of coffee and a snack at any of the O’Henry’s Coffees locations on Feb. 13 to support the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama. Homewood locations are:
- Downtown Homewood, 2831 18th Sreet South
- Brookwood, 569 Brookwood Village, Suite 101
- Samford University, 800 Lakeshore Drive
