March 13: Barbecue Luncheon Benefiting The Firehouse Shelter

Bobby Humphrey, former University of Alabama and NFL football star and member of the Letterman of the Iron Bowl, will be the keynote speaker at a barbecue luncheon benefiting The Firehouse Shelter. The event is set for Wednesday, March 13 from noon-1 p.m. in the Assembly Hall of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Homewood. Individual tickets are $20.
Humphrey will share his message of hope, “Overcoming Obstacles—One Yard at a Time,” highlighting his personal journey out of poverty to a starring role with the Crimson Tide and a career playing NFL football. Firehouse Shelter Executive Director Steve Freeman will give a brief presentation on how the community is making a difference in the lives of the homeless, and there will be a special testimony by one of the Safe Haven program alumni.
