Johnny's Meatballs
A dish from Johnny's Restaurant was featured in the newest issue of Garden & Gun.
The restaurant's Greek Meatballs made "John T. Edge's Top Ten Dishes of the Year" in the December 2014/January 2015 issue of the magazine.
Edge writes that the meatballs "decode as a grind of beef and pork, scented with thyme, oregano, sumac, and mint, and they taste like gyro meat that worked its way through night school to earn a postgraduate degree."
He also discusses owner Timothy Hontzas' Greek family and their culinary culture's influence on the dish, and recommends eating them with sides of squash casserole, butter beans and mashed potatoes.
